Thank You Tilda

Hi everyone, how are you all doing today ?
I send you all warm thoughts and prayers for a wonderful week.

Tilda is enjoying Spring flowers. Roses and Cherry blossoms are only two of all the wonderful blossoms that bring Spring alive with beauty.

It is so pretty now in NW Oregon to see all the flowering Cherry trees in bloom. Some are pink, white and white with pink.

The city of Tokyo gave the original 3,000 cherry trees as a gift to the city of Washington D. C. in 1912 as a symbol of friendship between the United States and Japan.

The first Cherry Blossom Festival was held in 1935 to celebrate the beauty and charm of cherry blossoms.

Today, cherry blossoms are connected to innocence, spring and simplicity.

Tilda is wearing a sweet spring dress and loves the lace and ribbon used.

Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, Nestie die cut shape. CS from SU. Copic pens for the colors used. MS branch punch and all other items from my stash.

This was a fun card to make. I am trying to branch out and do different layouts.

Have a great week and have fun creating.
Blessings, Doreen

Sweet Tilda with Straw Hat

Here is our Sweet Tilda with her straw hat.

Ladies straw hats early on were referred to as bonnets.

During the first half of the nineteenth century the bonnet dominated women's fashion, becoming very large with many ribbons, flowers, feathers and gauze trims giving an appearance of even greater size.
By the end of the century, although bonnets were still prevalent, many other styles were to be found, including wide brims with flat crowns, the flower pot and the toque - feathers and veils abounded.

I remember my grandmother wearing hats to church and special events. I wish hats were more common today as I think they are so pretty.

Tilda is colored with various Copic shades of Teal. I chose a shade of apricot to set off the Teal colors.

Flowers and floral stick pins are from Wild Orchid Crafts, Swirls from an EK punch, pearls and bow from my stash along with the cs from SU and BG papers.

Hope this finds you all doing well. I love all your card designs, they inspire me. Many thanks for coming by. Your all very special.

Tilda Love's Lavender

Throughout history, humans have ascribed specific meanings to flowers and used flowers to convey meanings. This practice grew especially popular during the Victorian era, when people selected the flowers within a bouquet as carefully as they would choose the words for a letter.

In the language of flowers, lavender flowers denote purity, silence, devotion and caution.

Tilda is totally enjoying her lavender flowers and all the purity they show.
I created this card using Copic pens and a Copic Air Brush.
Nestie elebrate square and Mediun Round Circle. Flowers from K&Company. CS from SU, pearls and ribbon from my stash.

Have a great week everyone and enjoy your designing time.

Today Is The Day, The Lord Hath Made

This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24

This past week has been a challenging one for me, as I fight sleepiness with the meds I take for my cancer issues. I find that sometimes I do not rejoice in my affliction and be glad about it.

I on some days have to take a concentrated effort to dwell on the fact that the Lord is in control and that He has made each day. I am to rejoice and be glad.

When I do this and focus on this verse, I must admit that I do feel much better and encouraged.

The Lord loves us and knows each one of our afflictions. I am Praising the Lord for His care over all of us as we take each day one at a time.

Have a great week this coming week and reflect on what the Lord has for us. Rejoice and be glad.

Sending friendship hugs

Tilda Stair Stepping

Hi everyone, so glad to see you today on my blog.

Tilda is stair stepping right into our first day of Spring. Enjoying fresh air and all the colorful flowers.

I hope you like my Stair Step Card, this is my first attempt in some time. I worked hours on this card.
Trying all kinds of layouts. Whew.... I finally decided on this layout.  I found out I tend to want to over decorate the stair step cards.

Tilda is colored with Copic pens. I also enjoyed using the Copic air brush on the Thinking of You and edge work on the Lacey Square Nestie in bright yellow. Flowers are from Wild Orchard Crafts.
All other items are from my stash.
Card stock from SU. MS branch punch.

I made 3 stair step cards and will feature them later. They all were very fun to design.

You all make such fabulous cards, mine do not compare. You all inspire me to keep trying.

Many thanks for your friendships and kind comments. Your all the best.

The Lord Is My Rock

Welcome to my blog this wonderful Lord's Day.

This Tues. is our first day of Spring. It is fun the see all the crocuses and daffodils and tulips break through the wet earth to be warmed by the sun and then to later burst into bloom.

I love spring flowers. They are so bright and pretty.
Winter is full of wind, rain, snow and other strong weather elements. But the flowers just hang in there and mature and grow.

As we live our lives, we also face different elements similar to winds, rain and snow.

But when we strive to lean on our Lord, he protects us and guides us. The Lord is our Rock and gives us strength and wisdom.

When I was going through bankruptcy, I was hit hard by never ending phone calls. It was like a storm I thought I would not survive. But reflecting on God's word and keeping it in my heart and mind to reflect on really saved me.

"I love you, Lord, oh my strength. The Lord is my Rock and my fortress and deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge. My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold."

Psalms 18:1 & 2

Have a great week everyone, and may we lean on the Lord our Rock and Shield.

Prayerful Blessings, Doreen

Everything By Prayer

Greetings everyone on this wonderful Lord's day.

I wanted to share with you that there is much to be accomplished with consistent and earnest prayer time.

Our Heavenly Father desires to help us as He loves us very much.

It is so comforting to know that God hears our every prayer.

It appears now in my life I face some medical issues. But not only do I but also some of my dear family members. I have a BIL with Epilepsy, a nephew with extreme back complications and lives in pain. A niece who's mother is battling cancer.

We all have family and friends that have prayerful needs.

Lets strive together to be in prayer and lift them all up to our Lord for His healing and provision.

"Be anxious for nothing, but everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God."
Philippians 4:6

Join me this week as we make known our requests to our Heavenly Father.

Have a blessed week.

I enjoyed doing this card and love the bright colors. Bright colors always make me smile.

Friendship Tilda

Friendships can be for just a season of time in ones life but others are for your life.

I have been blessed with both. With my dear husband in Heaven now, my dear Son Jeffrey and my dear Sister Karen are my life best friends.

Always on hand to pray for me and encourage me in the good and challenging times. I Praise God for them.

This dear sweet Tilda shows a true countenance of friendship. All dressed up for a day of fun. Going to a tea party and will enjoy some lovely crumpets and fellowship.

Copic's are my color medium. Papers by SU. Prima flowers, pearls and ribbon from my stash.
Scalloped square from my Nestabilities collection.

I thought this came out nice for a Spring layout.

Many thanks all, for stopping by and being such good friends to me.

Tilda Makes Me Smile

Hi everyone. How was your weekend?

Mine was quiet and was able to do some stamping.

I went through my card stock to pick out some pastel colors to use for spring themed cards. I found a few in my stash. I am more a bright colored user so I will see what I can do with the pastels.

A couple years ago I purchased a Copic Airbrush system. I found it and I am having a great time using it. I used the air brush to enhance green shades on these white tulips and also the sentiment background.

This lovely Tilda is colored with my Copic pens.

The tulips and floral stick pins are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Other embellishments are from my stash.

I used green and grey card stock from SU and a pearled ribbon. It is a different color combo for me to use. But it seemed to come together.

Many thanks for coming by. I wish you all a great day and lots of great designing opportunities.

Blessings Doreen

Rejoice In The Lord

"Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say rejoice"
Philippians 4:4

This past week was a great time for me to rejoice. As I found out that the ultra sound showed I am cancer free in my uterus. Praise the Lord totally.

Much prayer was said and more prayers are being said for my colon. I have cancer there. I have surgery on April 9th. I will still Praise the Lord with rejoicing for the out come no matter what the surgery shows.

The Lord has a wonderful plan for our lives and lets rejoice in all we do. Encourage others and lift them all up in prayer. The power of prayer is fantastic

Rejoice with me today and I wish you all a wonderful week.

Blessings, Doreen
