Tilda ~ Thinking of You

Greetings everyone. This is a more simple layout and design.

I used flowers from WOC. Ribbons and pearls from my stash.

I used a Spellbinder shape and cut it to fit in the corner.

This is one of my very favorite images of Tilda. Love her hands in the pockets. So cute. I used Copic pens to add color.

Have a fabulous day.
Blessings to all

Garden Of Roses

Tilda is enjoying her garden of roses. I have fond memories of my Mom's roses in her garden each summer. All colors were represented. My favorite was a yellow rose with red/orange edges on the petals. So totally goregous.Nice sweet fragrance.

The background paper inspired me for this card. I used CS from SU, pearls, ribbon, lace, from my stash. Flowers from WOC, I sprayed the white flower with my Copic air brush to add some red color using real red copic colored pen.

I stamped Tilda on white cs and used a Spellbinder die cut for my shape.
I used Copic pen colors, E11, E00 & R81 for her face,
E33, E35 & E53 for her hair. C00 for the angel wings. R32, R35, G07 & G24 for clothes and socks.
C3 & C5 for the shoes. G09 & R27 for the flowers. I then used an ink pad from SU, Garden Green to stipple brush the edges of my die cut.

Summer is so filled with bright colors and wonderful varieties of flowers. I wish summer would come and stay here in the Pacific NW of Oregon, we seem to only get a couple days of warm temps then back to cool rainy days.

Hope your all staying on the cool side, as I hate the heat, I do not feel well in hot temps. Our gardens need more sun shine to grow.

Have a wonderful week and many thanks for coming by for a visit.

Singing Praises

No one really knows where the harp originated and we will never know what harp music sounded like in the pre-historical era. In Egypt, some of the earliest images of bow harps are from the Pharaoh's tombs dating some 5,000 years ago.

Vertical harps with 2 arms also known as lyre harps or "lyres" also began appearing in ancient Sumaria by 2800 BC. Some of the oldest carvings of harps were discovered in Phoenicia with marble harp statuettes found dating back to 3,000 - 2,300 BC.

Psalm 71:22-23
I will also praise You with a harp, Even Your truth, O my God; To You I will sing praises with the lyre, O Holy One of Israel.

My lips will shout for joy when I sing praises to You;
And my soul, which You have redeemed.

David in the Psalms took many opportunities to Praise the Lord in music.
Let us today sing and Praise the Lord with all our hearts.
With thanksgiving and Praises let us sing with a smile on our faces no matter what challenge we are facing.

Have a blessed day in the Lord as we sing to His Praise.

Sea Shore Box For Tilda

Front view of my Sea Shore Box

Back view of my Sea Shore Box

Hi everyone, I thought I would enter this project in the Midweek Magnolia challenge, which is Anything but a Card.

Wow I had to put my thinking hat on.
So I decided to make this box. I had no template or pattern so made it up as I went along. I used my score board and just started measuring and I came up with this box. I put the ribbon on as a way to close the box.

I used this Tilda image and the Sea Shore as my theme. It was fun to put together.
For my Tilda I used Copic pens, E11, E00 & R81 for her face. E39, E43 & E79 for her hair. B34, R83 & R85 for her dress, bows & hat. B00 & B21 for water.
CS is from SU, ribbon from my stash and Sea Shore stickers from K&Company.

Our weather here in NW Oregon has been cool inbetween warm days. Really odd weather patterns.

I am not feeling my best, always tired.  I know the surgery results, will help me be more like myself. I look fwd to being cancer free.

I make a lot of cards and I also quilt. As a widow, I still have a hard time being alone so much. John has been gone now for 2 1/2 yrs. Still seems just like yesterday he was still with us.

Many thanks to all who come by and say hello. Have a super fun and great weekend.
Blessings to all

Fun Play Day ~ Tilda

Hi everyone, today is a great day to have some fun in your craft area.
This is a very happy Tilda enjoying a fun play day.

Red White and Blue is always a fun color combo to use.

I used some white flowers from WOC and then sprayed red ink on them using my Copic air brush.
I stamped Tilda on a Spellbinder die cut and used a stipple brush to highlite the edges.

Colored with my Copic pens, and used red ribbon bows and red ribbon to make a larger bow and border. Pearls, star charm and papers from my stash.

Tilda With A Feathered Friend

Canaries...
The canary — among the most popular and varied pet birds in the world — is well known for his vocal talents and vibrant color. Canaries are actually finches, and they can be green or yellow, bright orange, or even brown. Still, when folks think of them today, they most often conjure up a brilliantly colored yellow bird, thanks to the Sylvester-outsmarting Tweety Bird.

Tilda is showing us her favorite feathered friend and enjoying the fun vocal sounds it makes.

Embellished in flowers from WOC, charm bird cage, sparkly lace trim, ribbon and pearls from my stash. The background paper was my inspiration for the colors and theme of this card.
I used Copic colors for Tilda.

Have a super great day. And many thanks for coming by. Your comments encourage me a lot.

Blessed Be The Lord

Psalm 68:19
Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burden,
The God who is our salvation.

There is no burden that the Lord is not aware of. He will ride the storm before us.
We just need to keep our focus on Him and we will feel His peace and joy.

God is the blessed controller of all things. His will is the perfect will for each of us.

Have a blessed day in the Lord.

Fancy & Pretty ~ Tilda

I really like this bg paper, all the fancy shoes, purses and fun items to use for a night  on the town.
So here is Tilda all dressed up to enjoy a wonderful dinner out with friends.

I had never used peach and lilac before as a color combo, I was leary at first but it did seem to come together.

I used my favorite Copic colors, some peach colored pearls, fun charms = a hand mirror, comb and an elegant shoe. Lilac and white lace trim on top and I had white flowers .... so I used my Copic air brush and sprayed them with colors to enhance the card, Ribbon and papers from my stash.

I hope you will like my card. Have a super great day designing cards for your collection.
Blessings to all

Pearls & Swirls ~ Tilda

Tilda all dressed up for pearls and swirls.

Since ancient times, the pearl has been a symbol of unblemished perfection. It is the oldest known gem, and for centuries it was considered the most valuable.

A fragment of the oldest known pearl jewelry, found in the sarcophagus of a Persian princess who died in 520 BC, is displayed in the Louvre in Paris.

The Latin word for pearl literally means "unique", attesting to the fact that no two pearls are identical.

This was a fun card to design. I used Copic pens to color.
Nestie scalloped oval and basic oval shape. MS dotted scallope punch.
Cuttlebuy swirl template. Flowers from WOC, lace from JoAnn's, pearls and ribbon from my stash.

Enjoy a wonfderful sweet day.

This card reminds me of getting all dressed up to go to Gramma's house for Sunday dinner after church. Oh those memories are the best ! We would travel through the city to get to her house and to see all the big huge buildings along the way, was always interesting to us who lived in the country on a farm, where the biggest building was the barn....LOL.., ;-)

There Is Comfort

Psalm 119:49-50
49 Remember your promise to me;
it is my only hope.
50 Your promise revives me;
it comforts me in all my troubles.

There is nothing like the promise of comfort from our Heavenly Father.
Our Heavely Father loves us very much and wants the best for us.

As I take my journey through this cancer challenge, I find that His comfort carries me and gives me much strength and peace.

I share this as to encourage you with comfort that you may need at this time. Challenges can seem so big, but all in all we will get through them and our Heavenly Father will comfort us each step of the way.

Blessings to all,  Doreen

Love To Read Books ~ Tilda

Hi everyone.

I too love to read books. One of my favorite authors is Mary Daheim. They are  mysteries that have some fun humor in them.

Of course my Bible is a top book on my list. I would be hard pressed to choose a favorite book in the Bible. But I do favor Joshua, Ruth & John.

Tilda is here enjoying reading a great mystery story. Sitting on some more favorites to read.

I found this background paper in my stash and loved the bright colors used. So used it as my color choice to work from. I used copic pens and air brush. MS leaf punch and a Nestie large die cut. Fun buttons, ribbon, flowers and papers from my stash.

Have a super great weekend. I am going to make some new cards with a new collection of background papers I purchased yesterday by K&Company. JoAnn's had a 50% off sale, hard to pass those sales up......  ;-)

Blessings to all, Doreen

Splish Splash ~ Tilda

First day of summer is June 20th.

Boy am I ready. Would love to head to the beach and smell the ocean breezes and enjoy the soothing sounds of the ocean waves.

Tilda is having way too much fun here wading at the water's edge.

I used copic pens and air brush. I covered the sea shells with a crystal glaze to make them shinny.

I sprayed the white glitter branches with a copic coral color to give the look of coral reefs.

I used 2 charms from my sea shore collection, a sea horse and a sea shell.

I used a wave stamp to give the water some movement. Rhinestones for the shine on the water.
Ribbons and papers from my stash.

I will enter this card in these challenges:

Love My Garden ~ Tilda

Greetings everyone, welcome to my blog...
This week is going to be a super great week.

I really miss my gardens of the past. I love the spring time to dig in the dirt and plant veggies of all kinds.

Living now in an apartment it is very limited as to what I can do. I have planted a herb garden and a few veggies too. I have all my garden pots lined up to get the sun on my cute little patio, I only get morning sun till about 1:00pm. Wish me success ;-D

Tilda is here arranging her flowers and even has a cute little basket to put flowers in.

I colored Tilda with my Copic pens, I used the Copic air brush to color white paper with a Copic green shade, for the grass. I tore the grass paper on top to give a landscape effect.

Leaf punch is MS, Flowers from WOC, Magnolia fence, ribbons, pearls and papers from my stash.

I am wishing you all a great week and some really fun time in card designing.

Many thanks for coming by and leaving words of encouragement. It is much appreciated.

Stamping hugs and smiles.

Papers are from my stash, I cut squares then cut again into triangles.

I added 2 fun sewing charms, a sewing machine and a pair of scissors.

Flowers are from WOC, Ribbon and sentiment are also from my stash.

Tilda looks so cute going off to her quilt group to have some fun.

I will enter this card into these challenges:

My dear friends, I met with my surgeon and we have scheduled my cancer surgery for July 3rd.

My prayer request is that I can drink a gallon of cleansing fluid the day before and that they will be able to remove all the cancer that is in stage one.

Many thanks for your prayers and friendship.

Happy card making to all
